In a recent trip to Mexico City, Oracle rolled out three IoT SaaS Apps. IoT is synonymous with IaaS/PaaS, so it is refreshing that Oracle took a different approach to focus on SaaS instead of "thingy" IaaS/PaaS.
What makes Oracle's approach interesting is that what is done with the IoT data. It can be piped to an entire array of ERP apps. Supply Chain Management. Customer Experience Cloud Suite. Human Capital Management. Enterprise Resource Management. Enterprise Performance Management.
Think of all of the business transformation that can happen with real time data in all of these siloes – customer sentiment demand forecasting, employee motivation management, feedback driven development, business asset performance analysis.
